County EMS webpage. We would like to tell you a little about our service. Graham County Emergency Medical Service has served the citizens of Graham County since the early 1970s, initially with basic EMT's. Then in 1987 Graham County started its Advanced Life Support program with the EMT-Intermediate and EMT-Advanced Intermediate. Finally in 1992 Graham County established the first EMT-Paramedic program in North Carolina west of Haywood County.

Graham County EMS works under Medical Control at Harris Reginal, Emergency Department. Dr. Ken Gilligan is our medical director.
What We Do
Graham County EMS operates 2 full time North Carolina paramedic equipped ambulances and 1 part time paramedic equipped ambulance. Our ambulances are staffed by 2 NC Certified Paramedica at all times 24/7 days per week.
Here are just a few of the services GCEMS provides.
- 911 responce to all medical/trauma calls
- Public education in first aid/CPR.
- Interfacility Transport.
